thanks a lot for that. I'm pretty sure you're right because I really couldn't imagine it any other way, and I also couldn't imagine jews staying in China after israel became a "country", as delightful as Shanghai is .

so about how many Jews are living in Shanghai right now, who are either from the ww2 era or decendants of Jews living in Shanghai during ww2?

so there's no cost or membership fee to become a volunteer, huh?

I listened to the previous episode of this series and liked it a lot because it had to do with a  legitimate business run by a foreigner in China. In this episode, the discussion is based on a volunteer organization which gives more Shanghai locals a chance to practice English with American expats( and other foreigners) whom have too much time on their hands.

I didn't like this episode because it seemed more like a pitch for us listeners to join a volunteer organization then something educational that we can learn from . Besides that, there was only one Chinese word in the 14 minute podcast.

I was just talking to my friend about 去玩 vs. 去玩儿. Do all Chinese people (in mainland China) say 去玩儿？The reason I ask is I often hear my friends from Shanghai say 玩儿， eventhough Shanghai people don't say 儿 very often
