空调 can be a reversible heat pump, but not always. In the extreme south of China, 空调s that both "heat" and cool the air are not nearly so common, in my experience. Straight up ACs are less expensive than the dual-function 空调s. Even the very fancy office building I worked in in Guangzhou didn't have heat pumps.

Aside from toupees and wigs, I have seen several truly spectacular comb-overs here in China.

Another board game to check out: Bonanza, aka. The Bean Game. I use it with my Business English classes to practice negotiating skills.

German-style board games are starting to take off in China, it seems! I came across a cafe with an extensive selection of board games (heavy on the German-designed games, Settlers of Catan and Wasabi! included) that were available for customer use. Of course, most of the game rules were in Chinese...great motivation to improve my character recognition skills, I guess!
