March 6, 2008 at 5:46 PMsballa, I believe you're looking for 新闻 (xin1wen2) or 消息 (xiao1xi). I *think* the former is a little more formal, i.e., I think newspapers stick with 新闻. Can anybody clarify between the two?

March 6, 2008 at 5:38 PMIs there a trick I haven't figured out yet to input 2 character (but in numeric pinyin) for exercise 3, #2 & #3? I've had this trouble on other lessons as well. I've tried all manner of hai2shi, hai2 shi, hai2shi4, hai2 sh4, and none of those gets the nod as correct.

March 6, 2008 at 10:00 PMLove the site, love the podcasts -- and here are a few nits... :) Bug?: I can't get Expansion Exercise 3, first & last 2 rows correct. I think the tool maybe a bit too picky about word placement, or the the data is just wrong, but I'm not sure. Just to be sure, I've tried every permutation of the left-over words, to no avail. Feature suggestion: It would be great if there were a button to press that would display the correct answer, so I could stop beating myself up when I really do have the right answer already. While I'm at it, 2 more feature suggestions: 1) Any chance the font size could be increased for the hanzi? I have to get 12 inches from my screen to read them -- and for traditional, I just have to guess a lot. 2) The grammar and fill-in-the-blank exercises are a bit too easy -- they seem to use sentences taken directly from elsewhere (dialog, or expansion). So if you remember the sentences, there's no challenge. How about using new sentences? (I know, MORE work! :)
