Again I have asked my Chinese friend who says that it does mean take the medicine and it wont hurt not what they have translated it as.

Actually I am rather disappointed in Chinesepod not correcting this as it has confused many of use

Well, well I have just asked a Chinese friend of mine, who tells me that it does indeed mean I'll keep it and take it myself. She is adamant that 自己 must refer to the subject ie I

So the translation appears to be wrong and we have been misled.

If the person were leaving it for someone else to take it would have to be 留给

woops - in the podcast they say mo3ban3 (Greg even spells out the two tones) whereas the vocab tab has mu2ban3.

Do we take it that both are ok?

Thanks for pointing that out! Whole menu turns out to be a great example of the extraordinary 'English' one finds in China

Wow thanks. So many lessons, so little time. Can't help thinking there should be a better indexing system where one can see what's available.

七年之痒 - "Seven year itch" - In English we usually use this term to describe a marriage after 7 years, where one/both partners' eyes may wander, ie "a supposed tendency to infidelity after seven years of marriage."

Do we have the same in China?

I am pleased to say that I could follow all the chat in this lesson even though it was (nearly?) all in Mandarin.

It seemed a very short lesson.  Was it John's penultimate?
