September 4, 2009 at 1:42 PMThis is the same 过 "guò" that expresses "completed action", right? And yet in this example, it refers to how one "will pass / will spend" the New Year. Is there a way to interpret whether one is referring to past New Years or those in the future?

I know that the following sentence is in the context of "昨天"...but as a Newbie/Elementary, intuitively, I feel the need to add "le" to the following sentence. Would this be incorrect? Example: 我一直在家了，没离开了。Wǒ yīzhí zàijiā le, méi líkāi le. |

August 11, 2009 at 2:30 PMI understand that 洗澡 implies to take a shower / bath. But following up on an earlier comment, does anyone use 淋浴 línyù to specify taking a shower? I heard a friend of mine use this just last week. He is from Southern China...so maybe it is a regional thing.
