July 13, 2020 at 11:19 AMMaybe a typo in the expansion section. 泡菜 is pronounced pao4 cai4, in the audio, both forth tones. The pinyin browser popup says pao1 cai4.

July 11, 2020 at 5:12 AMThanks heaps the pod was very clear and easy to understand 一清二楚. In my opinion learning idioms and frequently used expressions is very useful when learning Chinese. Actually one could say it kills two birds with one stone一石二鳥. On the one hand you learn the characters and on the other you learn some Chinese thinking.

景氣 expansion section Chinesepod translation says "recession". This would maybe be better translated here as "state of the economy"".
I remember learning 鏽, rather than 銹. Other old traditional character people from HK and TW, use 鏽 often. The rhs 肅 is very important and it looks wonderful as well. Maybe we should practise using the traditional variants that look as different as can be from the simplified forms. Nothing worse than not recognizing a character when someone asks you to read or translate something.
