February 14, 2012 at 5:50 AMnow I'm a little bit confused as to the exact meaning of 厕所/cesuo。 I thought that this is a "place/room" to pee and poo, but now I'm wondering if it means a toilet or urinal. This question may confuse some people out there, because the word "toilet" has 2 meanings, depending on where you're from. Where I'm from, "toilet" mean the thing you sit on when you poo. In Britain, however, I beleive it means "bathroom", as in an actual room you walk into , and that room is called the "toilet". A British guy once told me that.So, I'd actually like confirmation on both of the Chinese word 厕所 and the British definition of "toilet".P.S. I thought the toilet that you sit on is 马桶／matong

February 11, 2012 at 9:19 AMquestion : is the 房 in 私房錢 meant to be neutral tone, or is it supposed to be 2nd tone ? It sounds like it's being read as a 2nd tone, but the pinyin has it as neutral tone
