April 7, 2015 at 2:20 PMI'm very sad to hear that Jenny and David have left cpod. Since learning a language is such a long process, motivation and inspiration are both important to me. Both Jenny and David have provided motivation and inspiration through cultural insight that has made this a very enjoyable journey. There was never a doubt that they loved their job and truely enjoyed helping others appreciate and learn about their culture and language.
I'm very sorry they are leaving but I'm glad that new learners will have access to Jenny and David's contributions through the large cpod library.

September 13, 2014 at 6:18 PMI think this is common in Shanghai. You get approached so often that it is hard to trust anyone. Once someone dropped 10$. I tried over and over to get his attention, but he would not turn and look. Oh well, my gain.

July 26, 2014 at 5:05 AMBoth of these apps work great! I definitely went outside my comfort level traveling in China much more than I would have because of these apps. Often I would find the menu on the wall in Characters without pinyin or English. The menu was often not near the cashier. With this app I could basically figure out what I wanted, take a pic, show the pic to the cashier, and enjoy wonderful Chinese food!

June 15, 2016 at 3:17 PMPlease grizzle somewhere else. Dorthy, we are here to learn Chinese, not to stroke your ego. I'm sure there are plenty of English sites that would welcome your criticizing skills. You can start with major English news sites that regularly make more severe mistakes than these. Many of us here are English teachers who could probably find a mistake or two in your paragraph. Your nit-picking belongs inside not outside of a classroom. We need to be humble and remember that when someone makes a slight mistake in English, it probably means that they speak another language fluently. Do you? I doubt that this horrible mistake is impeding your ability to understand the lesson.
