Indeed there are a lot of chinese Rock, Metal and Underground Bands.
One good example is the Beijing Midi Festival which can be compared with some nice festivals in Germany.
Some Bands are as good as the western bands from Europe or the States.
I live in Shenzhen and watched many great bands like Twisted Machine from Beijing, Suffocated, Yaksa,.......
Also HK is a nice spot for some good Rock and Metal Bands.
I agree, that the amount of Chinese people who listen to this Music is quite small but on the other side I also see its growing.
