Posted on: Soaking in Hot Springs
March 24, 2016 at 5:07 AMI live in Japan now, and some of the hot springs here are amazing! If anyone has the chance, I recommend Hokkaido onsens (温泉) in the winter. Imagine a scene where you are sitting in a warm onsen, -10 degree weather while snow falls on your head. Around you are plenty of trees enveloped in snow, not a single sign of the urban jungle.

July 12, 2011 at 6:05 PMIf you want to learn the real language, expose yourself to what native speakers of the language expose themselves to, because that is the real living language.
There was a time when your English was horrible (many many years ago) and you exposed yourself to real speed all the time, as cartoons speak at native speed.
Look what happened,
Native Chinese is in my ears at least 10 hours a day, and now I can understand most of the movie I watched yesterday and get confused for a Chinese sometimes after only 10 months of learning.
However, listening to the Qing Wen's of this website has helped me a lot too. The people behind Chinesepod are truly amazing and I would definitely spend my money on this website if they taught the language using the language. (Yes even at an elementary level this would be extremely effective, our parents and teachers used English to teach us English)
