lol! haven't listened to the dialogue just yet, but after reading everyone's comments, I can't wait :) I liked John's comment about "something bathed in fluorescent orange sauce" - the hilarious/terrible thing is how many foreigners I've met in China whose only concept of Chinese food prior to arriving here is precisely Panda Express food bathed in whichever sauce the fluorescent orange one is supposed to be :P (I was lucky enough to grow up in a town in California with an unusually high Asian demographic & no shortage of proper Chinese food, so, until I came to China, I didn't know people were actually being serious when they said the only Chinese food they knew of was "chicken chow meen and sweet and sour pork balls") .

On a slightly unrelated note, he2xu4's mention of Flushing reminded me of a movie I think everyone should see, if they haven't already; it's called "Saving Face," and one of the main characters is from Flushing. It's not primarily about food (although the mother does make some pretty amusing comments about the eating habits of her Chinese-American daughter & her American friend), but it's a really well-written (and hilarious) movie about traditional Chinese values and how a group of older Chinese people and the younger generation of Chinese-Americans try to negotiate them with the mix of decidedly different values that are normal in New York. I'd be really curious to see what the staff at CP (both Chinese and foreign) thinks, since the plot revolves around a lot of fairly sensitive topics :)

lol - I think he meant to write "(one of my) strong suits," :P as in one of his fortes; the expression comes from poker or some other card game(s) where it's possible to have a long suit with high cards, I'm pretty sure. I definitely agree with you and guolan, though - that website is quite impressive. I'm planning on taking the HSK in the fall, so I reckon I'll be visiting it quite a lot :) Thanks for recommending it, RJ! And, of course, thanks for running it, Mark :)!
