I assume that a word like 'Expo' is not common parlance in China. So where did the characters for the word 'Shibohui' come from and and who decided it? Would someone in China who had never heard of Expo's recognise and understand the term when they see the word Shibohui (in hanzi - I haven't worked out how to type them yet). I guess the same question applies to any new word that comes about.

Thank you bababardwan. So, if for example, someone goes for a lie down because they are not feeling very well and you check up on them later, could you say "hao le ma?". The same phrase but the context conveys the meaning?

In the dialogue the phrases hao le ma? and ni haole ma? are translated as are you ready now. Does this only apply to the context of the preceding interchange, i.e. impatience to leave? Or does it still mean this outside of this context? Do you know what I am getting at?
