尼罗河每年都会泛滥。洪水到来时，会淹没河两岸的农田。
Their translation appears to be the same however there must be sort of distinction between them since they were both used in the same context.

June 14, 2012 at 6:54 AMVery useful lesson!... :) I just wanted to say that during my stay in Taiwan for a year I always heard them saying
擊安全帶 (系安全带)
as "jì ān quán dài" and never "xì ān quán dài". Of course there might as well be an area of Taiwan, where I haven't been to, and they might pronounce it like that.
