The only thing the Japanese did that I absolutely can't accept is the 靖国神社having known war criminals in it. Imagine what happens if we have a German mausoleum that enshrines the likes of Heinrich Himmler or such and the German chancellor goes to honour it almost every year?

I do understand the sentiment of wanting to honour your dead, and I fully agree that people/nations have the right to mourn for their soldiers no matter what role they play in a war, because often, soldiers are as much a victim. However, it is entirely different and quite outrageous that notorious war criminals who were responsible for slaughtering countless civilians are still given the highest honour, officially, by so many in the Japanese government.

Of course, Japanese society is diverse and a lot of Japanese people disagree with what the government did, and such right-wing populism is by no means the problem of Japan alone, and, most importantly, China's own populist jingoism is in fact a lot worse because it permeates the society, from the government down to every level of society. But still, sometime it is hard not to feel angry when such blatant disregard of respect happens.

Much of the anti-Japanese sentiment is definitely deliberately whipped up, but on the other hand, there are legitimate reasons to be upset about what the Japanese government did, especially because Japan is a democratic country, such behaviour make it easy for people outside to infer that Japanese people endorse it. While we all know that democracy doesn't always work that way, such sentiment does have its legitimate roots.

Kinda late for a reply, but just in case you are still interested in the answer.

"你防守他" is correct, or ”你防那个人“,just simply "你防他" without the "守" is also okay. As for defence, it is also "防守",it is both a noun and a verb. If you want to mean it as an encouragement to defend, you can say "注意防守",literally means, "pay attention to the defence".

I hope this helps.
