You all addressed this briefly during this video, but I am still slightly confused on how to know when to place 了after or before the object. For example:你吃饭了吗？vs 你吃了饭吗？Or 我敲了门，不过他不在vs 我敲门了，不过他不在。I'm sure there are many other examples we could bring up to discuss, but any insight here would really be helpful. Thank you!
