I think it's important to have these pep talks. Usually we go from lesson to lesson not knowing where we are. It's good to have that outside view. I only know what level I am at, but teachers have seen many students in the transition from one level to the next. They think they may not be a the next level, but they might be or vice versa.

When you group these with the past couple of qing wens of podcast usage and the "how to use chinese pod", you have a review of what each level is and essentially what Chinesepod is about in more detail.

It's funny seeing as all these comments are coming in for the lessons this week. You see all the responses from all the levels about making that jump between levels. There really is a lot of gap between the levels, even between UI and Advanced. Not that that is a bad thing. A language in itself is the Advanced and Media. A level is where we stand in that range and what do we really need it for. The lessons this week have been clarifying that if you want your Chinese to be at a certain expectation, then you see which level you might set your goals to be in and motivate to be in that level but know what work it will to go to that next level, whichever it may be.

I am an Intermediate student trying to break into UI and I think that the transcripts would be very important. In Intermediate lessons, I find that John that repeats what Jenny says in English and it really reinforces learning for me. Having a transcript accompanied with the lesson to follow the lesson would be just as important as having the Adobe file and follow the dialogue with the Adobe lesson in hand. It would really expand the specific vocab needed to really be in the UI level.
