Thanks, Vera. I was thinking it was , " subject(tā) is who?" But it seems more like the other instance is ,"who is the person who has this title?"

I was just listening to another audio review that asked, " Who is a policeman?" and shéi came first. "Whom" is hardly used anymore. But instead of saying "The person with this title is whom?", in this instance, shéi would come at the beginning of the sentence. Is that correct?

I'm wondering why the dialog begins with the question, "Ta shi shei?" (He is who?) when in the expansion sentences shei is placed at the beginning of the sentence, in "shei shi nide Zhongwen laoshi?" (who is your Chinese teacher?)Also in the expansion sentences are "Ni shi shei", and "ni zhao shei" With shei placed at the end. Is it optional?

I would also like to know the pinyin for grandson.  I'm a new "waipo".  I learned the "Friends Song", and he likes it when I sing it to him.  He is not Chinese, but I hope to teach him what I know.

I am allergic/sensitive to many foods, scented personal products and cleaning products.  Also, the pinyin for fragrance would be helpful.
