I am glad that an experienced user brought this up. I thought it was only me. Besides the challenging content of the Upper-Int. lessons, speaking very fast during the podcast with a very little input or elaboration, moving back and forth randomly, skipping the lines, and sometimes end it in the middle – makes it almost impossible for an Intermediate user to follow the discussion. CPOD team need to be more creative in writing scripts and consider different types of audiences.

You should be very proud of yourself. Don’t be too proud to ask for advice. She’s a proud and independent woman. She is too proud to admit she could be wrong. His pride would not allow him to admit he was right. I feel very proud to be part of the team. He is the proud owner of the company. The sight of her son graduating filled her with pride. That was the proudest moment of my life. He is conceited, haughty, and full of pride and arrogance.

I am a bit confused about the use of word Proud in Chinese. I saw in different lessons the same word is used for the Proud and Arrogant - jiao1ao2.  There are other words as well, not sure which one is the most common.  It will be helpful if we have a lesson about this topic and discuss the sequence of words from Modest to Arrogant.

John, Jenny, Connie, and the rest of the team, you made my life in China more interesting and enjoyable than I expected. Thank you. 

Here is my two cents.

Most of the recent Intermediate lessons seem quite easy for the Intermediate level; they are sort of Lower Intermediate.  On the other hand, Upper Intermediate lessons in term of difficulty are getting closer to the Advanced level.  As a result the current gap between Int. and Upper Int. is too large and bridging between these two levels is very challenging.  Having something in between – Lower Int., Int., Upper Int. – will smooth the transition. Rerecording a selective number of Upper Int. lessons - more practical ones - with the mix of English and Chinese and a bit more intellectual input from John will serve the purpose and produces very interesting Intermediate lessons.
