I was wondering about that, too. But the person who reads this sentence out in the Audio Review does it with such conviction - is it just one of those idiomatic usages an anglophone has to get used to?

Since this is the first Intermediate lesson I've done, I find the level of challenge quite appropriate.  What other Intermediate lessons might qualify as "bridge lessons," (between the Elementary and Intermediate levels) I wonder?

In the expansion sentences the character 场 appears both as a counter (for magnificent fireworks parties?) and as part of the word for "scene" (of a volcanic eruption). I'm wondering what the root meaning of the character is.
