Also how do you say "It's just my personal opinion, you don't have to take it so seriously" in a soft non-offensive way?

For long term users long like me, now that John, Ken and Connie have moved on, it would be weird to have pod casts without Jenny. I think all Chinesepoddies who have been using this service for the past several years would agree.

Hi there Chinesepod,

I have a question about the word 向。　The way I understand it, it is 'facing towards' something but it isn't an action, which is a bit confusing and at the same time, what purpose does it serve in normal sentences? How is it applied?

Also when I also looked into it deeper I found 朝 (cháo) and 往 (wǎng) which made it even more confusing.

Can you help shed some light on this?

It was regret that the steak was not well done, but I did not regret seeing my friend get food poisoning.

我遗憾这个牛排没有熟的好，但是我不后悔看我的朋友有食物中毒。

I want to say it in this way. It was regret that my friend got food poisioning but it was I who was behind it all. Muwahahahaha! (raise pinky to lower lips)

Does the meaning work like that?

I don't think you should treat a daughter or son differently. The most important thing is to make sure they grow up to be a independent, virtuous and contribute positively to society. 

我觉得教育孩子的方式，女儿或者儿子应该不要分别. 最重要教育的方式应该确保她们长大可以自主，道德和积极为社会做贡献。
