I was telling a bilingual Chinese friend I'd found a great online course and was studying a Newbie lesson. Just for a moment, she thought someone was making fun of me!
(We pronounce Newbie with a soft "n" - nyubee - rather than the American hard "n" - noobee. And we use "beginner" rather than "newbie".)
