Great podcast, but the claim that there are no dialects in America, while a popular one in China, is incorrect. It's certainly easier to understand the different dialects in the US than in China, but it doesn't mean American dialects do not exist. Many linguists put the number of American dialects at 24. Others put it at 3. Still others claim it is impossible to count the number of American dialects.
