If I am correct, I think the european size 39 is approximately an American woman's size 8, maybe 8 1/2. Actually, being 5'10", I managed to find a lot more clothing that fit than you would imagine. Although, I got in a fight the first time shopping with the sales lady, telling her that I was a small, not an extra large! She was right, though. In China, I am not a small :)

Hey, I have a question about adjectives. You guys were saying that when the adjective is only one symbol and the noun is only one symbol, that they are pushed together (xiao bao, da bao, etc.). How come in the conversation the woman says zen me xiao de bao, then? Could she also have said zen me xiao bao, or do you always have to have the de following adverbs?

Ya, it is amazing the lengthes at which Chinese girls will go to in order to avoid tanning. Most Chinese people were surprised when I explained that my skin color (very white) is NOT attractive in the US.

I also remember once having difficulty finding lotion at a department store that didn't have "whitening effects". That is one thing I don't need!
