You are "in the doghouse" means someone is in a very hard situation and have no way to escape. So, in my opinion, maybe you can say "Lao wang is in the doghouse" as "老王困坐愁城"(Lao wang is sitting in the blue city due to hardships) :P

哪 means "which" or "what", but 那 means "that".
so 你有那個本事? means "can you do that" or "are you capable for that?" But if you replace "那" with "哪", the translation should be changed into"Do you have what kind of ability(or skill)?" :P
