澳大利亚特别是"no worries, mate 和 she'll be right, mate" 国家, 人民又朴实又放松 —— 大概太放松了, 就是澳洲人的文化和性格。

Near the end of the Full Lesson John describes the topic as 敏感 and David elaborates on a point.  I can't make it out simply by listening.  Any chance of transcribing what David said and elaborating a little further?

I can understand your point of view - politics is indeed a can of worms in certain parts of the world - and there's no need to pursue this topic any further.

In the lesson following this one, I sincerely hope that chinesepod write about the historical leadership transition in China, as a means to compliment this one.  The leadership transition only occurs every ten years - and it is something that Westerners should pay more attention to.  Perhaps the Chinese perspective will give poddies some much added insight into this process, in particular the Chinese people's view of the concept of the leadership transition, the opinions of the up-coming leader and an assessment on the current leaders who are stepping down.

It's only fitting that our hosts, who are both young parents, introduce a topic in relation to baby products.  Only recently, I completed reading Jonathan Fenby's Tiger Head, Snake Tails, where the issue of milk products is discussed in earnest in one chapter titled Lack of Trust.  However, unlike this dialogue, Fenby emphasised recent health issues and controversies which made both the domestic and international news where baby milk products had been tainted on a large scale.   According to Fenby, Chinese parents are willing to import milk powder from abroad and are willing to pay high prices for any dairy products which are produced in countries such as New Zealand and Australia.

I forgot to mention (perhaps an unconscious slip) but I also showed this student the book I am currently reading in Chinese. The title of the book is 谁盗了你的梦。 As you can guess by the title, the book is a self-help book. It teaches young people how to succeed in such a competitive world. Indeed, it seems our world is about the survival of the fittest and the law of the jungle, especially if you read the comments in this lessons. Given the above situation, one can only wonder, who was stealing who's dream. However, given the logic of one line in the dialogue "We live in China so we must speak Chinese" but in this case "We live in Australia so we must English", this student had right of way. Nothing was urgent, so in the case of efficiency, he also had right of way,
