October 20, 2011 at 12:46 PMI am wondering why the PDFs for many Qing Wen podcasts are empty. -- there is a link to the PDF, but the PDF has no actual words in it. It appears to be just an empty template.
The printed words (both the Hanzi and pinyin) are very important -- does anyone from ChinesePod have the answer as to where the content went? Or maybe some of the QingWens just don't have any printed material?

It is nice for about 30 seconds, then it is annoying. You guys at CPod probably don't sit and listen for an hour two at a time with your lessons, but I do spend a lot of time listening, and the music becomes distracting. Maybe you could use something quiet and mellow? Or even --- get rid of it?
If other agree/disagree, please weigh in.

October 13, 2011 at 2:33 AMI use James Heisig's book "Remembering Simplified Hanzi: Book 1, How Not to Forget the Meaning and Writing of Chinese Characters."
I have found it to be extremely effective in learning exactly what the title says. But I recommend that you read the reviews on Amazon before you make a purchase. His approach is revolutionary, but not to everyone's taste.

September 4, 2011 at 4:30 AMIn Dalian (in wintertime) my students taught "lung si le" - "freezing cold!" - but I don't know the Hanzi or the pinyin for that matter - but I used this phrase a lot!

You seem to have employees who draw a lot of attention to themselves personally (on the podcasts), which is not what learners-of-Chinese are looking for. Sure, some folks get turned on by "Dear Amber" and similar podcasts, but there is a big difference between the personality-based podcasts and language-learning podcasts.
I hope you can keep the difference clear as you move forward. I DO think that there is a place for listeners to develop an affinity for your on-air personalities, like folks clearly did with Jenny and Amber, but you ALSO need to keep in mind that many listeners could care less about a cute Chinese girl, or a fun-loving Canadian gal and her adventures in China. Those folks want to learn Chinese, not listen to a bubbly personality.
