I hear just hǎo frequently with out the unnecessary nǐ or ma involved. I often times get people yelling hello followed shortly thereafter by nice to meet you from people speeding by on motorcycles.
But, most of the time, people seem to use nǐ hǎo or just hǎo around here in northern Hunan province.
