May 24, 2007 at 6:33 AMChinesePOD, thanks for the shout out to Meizu Mp3 players in the lesson image. In terms of chinese brand mp3 players, I have found them to be the best on the market (even if they do rip off apple's design style).

May 24, 2007 at 6:29 AMAZERDocMom, Talking to friends in China I have only ever heard them refer to an iPOD using the english term "iPOD'. If there is a specific word for it I have never heard anyone use it, even at the huge computer market down the street from my house. Second, apple computer is 苹果电脑 (ping2guo3 dian4nao3) which is nice and easy to remember. Hope that helps

May 17, 2007 at 3:09 AMIn the lesson I noticed the use of 冰的 to denote something cold or chilled. I was always under the impression that it was incorrect to use 冰的 to request something cold and that one should opt to use 凉的 instead. Since I trust ChinesePOD more than my own skill in Mandarin, what is the usage difference between the two? Are they interchangeable?

May 11, 2007 at 3:13 AMI live up in the frozen tundra of 东北, and up here when I order 小笼包, the server always asks 几提? (I am guessing on this character-if anyone knows if I am right of wrong that would be helpful). Anyways, I understand the meaning is the same as 笼, but what is the difference in usage? Is this just a regional thing? Do other people, in other parts of China encounter this word? I have always used 笼 to order, and the servers have always understood, but I rarely here other people in Shenyang use 笼. They use 提 instead.

April 23, 2007 at 2:55 AMI am still a little unclear on the exact meaning of 轨道交通. Does it refer exclusively to Light Rail trains or could it also refer to any rail transport? thanks

September 11, 2007 at 10:40 PMWhat about ninja turtles? Does anyone know how to say that? Did those ever make it over to China? I always hear the theme song on Chinese talk radio
