Jenny mentioned having problems posting pictures on her blog. I've had the same problem lately on CPod. I had it solved once, but either things changed or I forgot the SOP. You just find a link on a photo sharing site and paste it into the url field in the photo box, right?

October 21, 2008 at 2:57 AMI should have been clearer, it is not Chinese slang, it is Cantonese slang. Apparently morphed into Mandarin in Malaysia.
Still, I confess to being confused (happens a lot). A quick Yahoo yielded this headline using 出年 in its written form, meaning last year. It is from a web site called Sina.Com/新浪网, which is based in Shanghai.

Why would this expression be in a Mainland news site?

October 21, 2008 at 1:07 AMChangye, I first mentioned 出年 to my wife, and she said that there was no such thing. However, upon further reflection, she remembered that it is slang for last year... chuck ning or something like that. Apparently it is mostly spoken, not written.
