June 26, 2011 at 4:13 AM麻将, although a great game in which I have played many hours of (accompanied by many beers, cigarettes, and won/lost money), has been put to shame rather recently for me by 斗地主. This is an easy card game that can be played anywhere and you only need three people. Trust me, it's worth a shot.

June 4, 2011 at 12:29 PMdude, Jenny's Chinese. we've got to take her word for it on this one. but what you're addressing, although very minuscule on this issue (in my opinion), is a big concern for me when using this site. i often study words from these dialogues that aren't used in oral chinese either because they are 书面的 or other times because...i have no idea. i live in 大连 （东北） with a roommate from 本溪 （also in 东北） and i sometimes run some vocab by him that i've studied off this site and he's totally confused...even after showing him the dialogue. this is a very well educated 24 year old male that speaks perfect 普通话. i think it's safe to say that with chinese you'll often run into some gray. between local dialect, new words, etc...try not to lose hope. patience is key.
