Eggnog has always been available in Canada. Its a Christmas time tradition.

 

Edit: Oh yes, and its good to make you FAT, its wayyyyyyyy worse than milk on calories.

In my 30 years of life in Canada I have never heard the term "steep" used. I guess its a British thing?

It's like another language! Where is my Britishpod.com?

Some examples:

Pretty sure 泡 is wrong in the PDF, it says "to steep", should be "to soak"
