I dont think the event in China even remotely compares to what happened in the US. Why not talk about what is really one peoples minds, which is Sandy Hook?

I hate to say this but in spite of the otherwise fantastic produciton and presentaiton of CP lessons, there are many many instances of mis-matched review words (the words dont match the sentences), mismatched and missing dialog PDFs (中国八大菜系 for example). It makes studying dialogs MUCH harder!

this is not only limited ot chinese tradition, as if couples split up like this over the holidays in western countries (at least in the US,)people begin to wonder how the marriage is going. if there are children the problem is compounded significantly.

One of my favorite Chinese verse says: 未能事人，焉能事鬼 which means- "if you can't serve men, how can you expect to serve the gods"。 This was a commonly used expression in the 中华民国 in the early 1900s. There were many people who were turned off my the tendency to prioritize ritual and the afterlife at the epense of fellow mankind. in this case, 焉 woudl seem to mean " how can ..?"
