Like many people who have listened to this show, I am very impressed and also a bit disappointed that it hasn't continued. Often I feel my Mandarin is limited to everyday contexts and lack deeper cultural understanding into the language, so this show is really wonderful for adding dimension to my studies.

P.S. It would also be fanastic if Chinesepod could broadcast discussions on Chinese literature and encourage more people to get it.....a bookclub?

I would DEFINATELY keep signed up to Chinesepod if there was a Cantonesepod! With mandarin, once you master pinyin it's easy to learn how to pronounce words properly but with Cantonese, I wouldn't have a clue. I would love to learn to read in traditional characters too!
