Please do not mix up virus 病毒 and bacteria 细菌. Antibiotics definitely won't help with the former, you could as well try them on your computer with similar results. As always when there is a public health scare in China, snake oil peddlars are cashing in.

I remember SARS, when a colleague brought some white powder to put on your desk to shield one from that sickness.

As to the general use of antibiotics as standard fare for intensive animal rearing, this is widespread in the USA too and I could get quite polemic about the big food - pharma industrial complex causing as one example obesity and at the same time selling the cure, i.e. insuline, 等等。

Pigs cannot fly and swim only when alive.
