January 7, 2014 at 1:27 AMIf it's 'close to/far from', it can't stand alone. In some phrase, 离 could be alone but it means 离开, for example：离乡背井líxiāngbèijǐn. It's a verb.

Actually 慈善 is a noun, it should be 'charity'.
