March 28, 2008, 11:41 PMI never had any negative comments about my beard in China. Some taxi drivers said I looked like an old man, and my little kid students liked to touch it. As for tattoos, I went a long time in China never seeing one, until I joined the gym in my second city, there were a few kickboxers who had huge dragons or tigers tattooed on their back.
