What I'd like to know is how 李探长 knew that three were lying and not that three were telling the truth.

In the dialogue, the description of the bathhouse includes the line "装修也很简单" translated as "the renovation was simple."


Is there another way to translate this? What does renovation mean in regards to describing a place in general?
