April 20, 2011 at 12:56 PMI have a question. How do I say "closet" ? As in an American-style closet that can't be picked up and moved around.
This lesson has the word for "wardrobe" , but Americans don't actually have these things. We have closets, that are a part of the house/apartment. Is there a different word, or is it still 衣櫃 ？

对话的第六行有 “睡觉”，这个词，然后它的弹出翻译是“to fall asleep", 然后第八行有 “睡着” 这个词，然后它的弹出翻译是"to sleep" . 我可能是错的，但我本来觉得“睡觉” 应该是“to sleep" ， 然后 “睡着”是 "to fall asleep" ， 所以我是说这两个词的弹出英文翻译不是应该交换才对吗？

April 18, 2011 at 5:52 AMI was confused about "zed" vs. "zee" , and "zebra" vs. "zehbra" .
I think the way non-American native English speakers pronounce the letter "z" and the word "zebra" both sound unlike English. "zed" is from Greek and "zehbra" is from Portuguese.
2-0 in favor of American English !!!

April 17, 2011 at 6:58 AMthis is true. Everyone has an accent. Americans and Chinese people often think that having an accent implies speaking with incorrect pronunciation. All Americans have accents and all Chinese people have accents . In the case of Chinese people, most Chinese people do in fact speak with incorrect pronunciation, but that's where all the fun come from ~!! It's never easy, and it always requires a little bit of decoding, hahaha
