February 14, 2010, 08:04 AMI am confused, dear changye; I also thought that ji ... you ... should both be followed by a verb. However in the extension we have them followed by adjectives and objects respectively. So the use of the construction is wider? Can you please explain?

January 10, 2010, 09:16 AMAs far as I know:
touteng (头疼) is the verb "to have a headache"
toutong (头痛) is the substantive "a headache"
of course, in spoken language, you will sometimes find no difference.
I hope this helps.

February 17, 2010, 04:46 AMJust a question about cultural differences in the expansion ... is it common in China to ask your husband to beat and swear at you when you admit a mistake???? It sounds pretty weired in English "it's all my mistake, honey, please beat me and swear at me" ...???
