我也非常喜欢罗里奥特的风趣! (wǒyěfēichángxǐhuan luóliàotè [Loriot] de fēngqù [humour, wit])! I found the Chinese transcription of "Loriot" by googling Chinese websites using the keywords "Loriot site:cn". I was just wondering if there is a systematic/official way to create Chinese transcriptions of Western names, or if anybody is entitled to make up its own transcription?! If so, who does choose the official transcription, once somebody has become really well known in China? If Loriot were more famous, I'm sure he would be referred to as "金黄鹂" (jīnhuánglí = oriole), as this is the literal meaning of his pseudonym in French. On a sidenote: he chose to be called "Loriot", as this is his family's heraldic animal, while his real name is Vicco von Bülow.
