July 22, 2010 at 11:43 PMThe lesson material is terrific in terms of learning contents, and very relevant in a modernising society.
I do find one aspect of conversations very uncomfortable, like this one between Ting2Ting and Sia 1Wei2....
Why is it that her pronunciations sounds so clear and distinct, whereas his always sounds like he is speaking with a lolly in his mouth???
I notice this in many conversations...is it just the one man involved, or do men speak like this all the time?
Thanks.

May 8, 2009 at 11:29 AMI am at an awkward stage of learning. The Newbie, Elementary, and even the Intermediate levels I have managed, so I am attempting the Upper Intermediate, like this one lesson on "Opening A Factory" I find it very frustrating, and very infuriating, that the person reading the "Dialogue" is racing through texts as if rocket propelled ! If anyone like me was able to even catch just half of what she was reading, I probably would need no more learning from your site.I think you forget yourself!

January 17, 2008 at 1:27 AMThis is a very useful lesson, but the section on "Expansion" has very many mistakes. The actual sentences, and the interpretations given, DO NOT match !!

March 7, 2011 at 11:08 PMI feel your lessons are always very interesting, and the subject matter very relevant to everyday matters. I have one query to make though...
In all the lessons, the women speakers always speak in such clear tones, it is no problem picking out their pronounciations. Indeed they are a pleasure to listen to.
The men speakers though, are irritating. Their words are pronounced with a blur, and hard to catch. It is like someone speaking with a lolly in the mouth !! Is this the normal "standard" Mandarin, or is this an isolated case of macroglossia??
