Hi everyone, does anybody know how to ask someone to use 你 instead of 您? I'm in touch with a guy who is a little younger than I am (I am 33 y.o.) but we are at the same level in the academic hierarchy: Ph.D. students. His use of 您 is a little too polite for my taste, I would like us to become friends. Thanks!

Hi Keth,

I'm just another lerner like you, but it seems to me your 2nd tones sound a lot more like 3rd tones. For instance in "你明天来吗？Nǐ míngtiān lái ma?" I heard 来 with a clear third, and not second, tone.
