Oh, man. Just now at the entrance to the bar I bumped into a bunch of beggars. They're all little kids, and they seem really pathetic. But if you give something to one of them, they all pile on around you. I gave out all my spare change.

There aren't actually that many beggars in Shanghai. Most of them pop up at places with a lot of foreigners. And then right before the New Year, a bunch of them flood in. Mainly, they want to earn some money for celebrating the new year.

Beggars in some cities are organized. They split up their turf. They have a strict organization. They'll use all ages of people, and all kinds of methods, to beg. Anyway, they're everywhere.
