Two questions about the website

August 23, 2010 at 10:40 PM posted in General DiscussionOkay, these might have been answered somewhere, but I haven't noticed.
One, is the new "How to use ChinesePod" series replacing "News and Features"? This is really just out of curiosity. I normally don't listen to the "News and Features".
Two, is it just me, or was the site offline for about half a day this last weekend? If yes, what is being done about this? This is the second weekend the site has gone haywire.

Also, we put up a community post on CPod yesterday for those that had missed the conversation in News and Features. Check it out here.

xiaophil, the site must have been offline for at least half of a day this weekend, Sunday morning, U.S. West Coast time.
No idea about News and Features. I wasn't aware that it was being cancelled.

Yep, just to confirm: there are two posts on blog.chinesepod.com that expand on these points.

How to Use ChinesePod is a mini-series; I think it's going to be on every other Sunday just for four episodes. I heard about this in the previous News and Features.

xiaophil,
they have both been talked about.
the new show is just for 4 podcasts. I think it alternates with n and f every couple of weeks though I'd have to listen again to make sure.
it was off over the weekend for several hours because of a broken fibreoptic cable to the server in us I believe, now repaired

Okay, this confirms my suspicions. Thanks. By the way nobody talked about it (as far as I can see), it almost felt like it didn't happen.
