Say It Right Series

"Keeping" and "leaving" in Chinese

Posted by freddy1705 September 21, 2010 in the Group I Have a Question.

Dajia Hao,

I have trouble with the verbs for keeping and leaving.

here are some examples:

Let's leave some (food) for tomorrow. 我們留下一點菜, 可以明天吃. (?)

Leave one for me. 給我留一個 (?)

Let's keep one fish and let the rest go. 我們只留一條, 其他條就放生好不好? (?)

You can keep it. 你可以留著 (?)

保留, 留下, 留著 etc. what is the difference?
