What a nice invitation! But, damn... I'm not a Brit. Maybe you guys can make an exception, kinda like when the English national team hired a Danish guy as coach?

As we near Christmas I'm in a musical mood. So this week at 'Brits Learning Mandarin' it will be song lessons every day. So why pop on over and sing along? While your singing you can also learn some English Counties. :)

Is 88groups's time schedule based on Shanghai time or your own local time?

Joachim, I had no problems pasting text, with html code, from TextEdit. I did it a number of times and it worked each time.

Bazza & calkins:
I ran into the same problems on 88groups with end of lines and had to repeatedly add breaks. Unfortunately, even the pasted lesson object code seems to get corrupted when editing.
糟糕!

Bazza, I also noticed this on 88groups. If it doesn't get fixed, I would suggest pasting your lesson text (including any html code) into a word document, then saving it for any future editing.
Then you can easily edit it and copy and paste it into the 88groups site, without having to add all the tags again.

There seems to be a slight bug on 88groups. If you want to do a long list of items, you have to add the br tag to the end of each line. Which isn't too much of a problem, but if you need to edit it later, it strips out all the br tags and you have to re-add them all again or it puts them all on a single line.

Rich, there are probably more people from Tianjin in your town than caucasians studying Chinese....

I know some Chinese people living in London who I am sure would be interested to meet up too if you wanted to speak Chinese (Personally I am in no state to speak more than a few set phrases in Chinese)

In Bath I would say we have a really big Chinese population. I counted more than 50% Chinese in some of my courses

It's says Brit or UK resident. ;) I wouldn't kick anyone out for not being either of those though anyway.

Meet-up?:
You know, it really hasn't sunk in that I actually live in Britain, it is still like living in a fairytale (with lots of rain)... too surreal... Yet I do have to wondering, will there be any Britain/London/Edinburgh meet-ups that I will get to join?! Maybe if I meet more Brits (rarely do here in this city where I hear more Chinese spoken on the streets...Chinese are more chatty I guess) the reality will sink in.

I'm going to start a group called Americans-studying-Chinese-in-Britain-after-studying-it-in-China-and everyone-asks-why they-study-in-Britain.
How big is my audience? :P
Do I have to be real Brit to join you group, or is being someone that has to suffer from the same endless rain count? ;)

I'll probably have to make some lessons myself somehow though because there's very few Cpod lessons that are UK related.

Where's gone as of November 22, 2007? It is no longer a featured group ... Oh, the number of featured groups is max. 5 and yours is no. 6.
Is this way it's supposed to work: each group picks the lessons most appropriate to it's needs and presents them?

Good idea, I like it. Also we can write thing UK related like How long does it take to fly from London to Shanghai for example

Just thought it could be a place to share UK related lesson material and vocab etc.

Bazza,
Shouldn't you be starting a group called "Brit's moving to Shanghai"?
