December 28, 2010, 05:54 AM posted in General DiscussionThis is a topic I would like to learn more about. There are a number of genres and famous cartoon stories, such as Black Cat Police Chief.
Any poddies who have links to share, please post here?
I will start with
经典国产动画片《三个和尚》 (3 monks)

We have the three characters as little ceramic figures in our house - very cute. This animation comes as a silent movie (just under 20 minutes.).

Page 3 made me laugh the most but Page 5 is also quite amusing. Might see if I can snag a copy from amazon.
Edit: Actually just ordered it along with 3 new Chinese learning books.. talk about impulse buying.. lol! Grabbed a copy of "Remembering Simplified Hanzi" (long overdue purchase), "Dirty Chinese" (by ex-ChinesePod Staff Matt Coleman) and a Chinese Measure Word Dictionary (a bit superfluous really.. but it's one of those things that I always uhm and arr about buying :))

Guy Delisle (2006), Shenzhen: A Travelogue from China, Drawn & Quarterly Books, Montreal.
Whether this strictly qualifies as Chinese animation I'm not sure. It is a graphic novel telling about a Westerner's experience working as an animator in China.
In parts it is laugh-out-loud funny. And it is consistently a keen observation of modern China from a Westerner's point of view. It reminded me of so many events and experiences in my first year in China. Highly recommended for Chinese learners with a ridiculous sense of humour.
