December 19, 2007, 11:50 PMOh just ONE other thing about the character "泽", it's a character in the name of the great Akira Kurosawa director the The Seven Samurai, Ran, Rashamon etc., some of the GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME and a major influence on George Lucas' work! Simplified: 黑泽明 Traditional: 黒澤 明

December 17, 2007, 09:17 PMWell, a random word from my IME, 把砸. Hold and smash?
daizi
December 17, 2007, 11:19 PMI would probably go with a ze word (assuming you pronounce the last syllable "zuh".

December 17, 2007, 11:28 PMI'm guessing that you like to travel, so how about 跋匝 (bázā)? I think it's "travel around" or something similar, right?

December 18, 2007, 12:35 AMYea I like 跋匝 but they all work. You need some native advice I think.

December 18, 2007, 01:14 AMHow about 巴泽? (ba ze) I like how the latter character means kindness.

December 18, 2007, 01:27 AMOh, yes, I like 巴泽! Bazza, you seem so kind. It fits well.
bazza
December 18, 2007, 06:54 AM泽 can also mean swamp though. ;)
bazza
December 17, 2007, 08:55 PMYou can have 吧咂 (bā za), but that means 'to smack the lips' apparently.
bazza
December 18, 2007, 02:19 PMOk, I'll go with 巴泽 then.

December 18, 2007, 03:01 PMokay...that's nice. So it's kind of like "to hope kindness". ^_^

December 18, 2007, 03:40 PMYeh, 巴泽 it is!
bazza
December 18, 2007, 05:28 PMIt sounds ok pronounced by TextAloud, although I'd be better to hear Jenny say it, preferably with 我爱 in front of it, just for some context. ;)
xiaohu
December 19, 2007, 05:23 PMBazza: Yes context is very important here ;) (heh heh). It's funny I had a dicussion with one of the other members about Jenny vs. Amber and I had to go with Jenny...Amber scores a 10 Jenny a 10+! I'm sure you'd have to agree. The more I think about it the more I like 巴泽 especially in the context of "to hope for kindness".

December 19, 2007, 06:47 PM别担心,我们都爱你,巴泽。

December 19, 2007, 08:35 PM:) I've add it to "My Chinese Name" on facebook. You can have a formal name and as many Chinese nickname as you want I think.

December 18, 2007, 07:16 AMI thought it was just better concentrate on the best meaning of the character plus I think 泽 is a very nice looking character.
azerdocmom
December 17, 2007, 08:41 PMThat could work. I was thinking the second syllable (za) is more a neutral tone rather than first tone. Is there such a word in Chinese?
