May 28, 2013 at 11:57 PM posted in ChinesePod Mobile AppsTime for another app update. Yes, I know, sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing...yet that is how the world is working. Fortunately Google/Android let's me update any bugs quickly.
In the newest v3.6 version, we have added Speech Accuracy, where any sentence or vocab term can be pulled up in this tool (if your device has the ability...some may not see the "Accuracy" button due to not being complient with Google's speech recognition service) and you can compare your voice with Google's Speech Recognition service which turns speech into Chinese characters, then your text is compared with the original text and an accuracy percentage is given.
Flashcards were also worked on, to be able to manage them by creating decks, moving terms and removing terms. It is still recommended to use the website to do some of the more complex management.
Bugs with audio files playback of sentences and words has been improved, so should experience no (or less) broken audio, and even see more audio available in the drill-downs.
Again, comments are welcome, app ratings/comments on Google Play are watched and are very helpful, and of course can also notify us of any problems here or at android@chinesepod.com

If you have used the "Accuracy" button, please let us know what you think. Of course as our disclaimer says, it is not to be used as a formal test, but it is helpful in knowing what Google's speech recognition service thinks you said.
