Android App takes me to chinesepod website?

Just downloaded Chinesepod Android app v.3.6. When I open it and click on sign in, it takes me straight online to the website. I login online and I'm on the website, not the mobile app. In the Mobile Apps section of the website it just says to download the app and sign in to get straight to the mobile app homepage. I'm so confused!

Has anyone figured this out yet?

I'm having the same problem. I've been a member for years (just got my first smartphone last month), so I am obviously not trying to sign up using the app. I'm just trying to log in, and it takes me to the Chinesepod site as I would see it in a web browser.

Even if I'm already logged into Chinesepod on my mobile web browser, when I go to the app, it still asks me to log in and then takes me to the Chinesepod website afterward.

I've been trying for a couple weeks now, periodically uninstalling and re-downloading the app, but no luck.

Is it because I have a somewhat out-dated Android OS (version 2.3/Gingerbread)?

@rich, do you have any thoughts?

Tabifu, yes, it is because of it being 2.3. The current version of the app only works on Android 3.0 or greater. Google, however, still has you download the 2.3 version if you are on Gingerbread. The v2.3 version, which I can't even run since I don't have the APK, probably has issues now with signing up, not getting the right data back from the API. It wasn't doing this stunt of taking a user to the website before, but a lot of other things with v2.3 users like bookmarked lessons, etc.

Sorry to say I don't have a solution other than need to get a Android v3.0 phone. Apps like OpenLanguage don't even work on v3.0 phone but require v4.0 as the minimum...I'm still trying to support v3.0 devices even though I don't have one in my possession....not easy. :(

The same thing is happening to me, after I sign in the app moves me directly to the website and when I press the back button, the the Login button is not appearing on the app main screen. Every time is going to the website

So sorry about this. ChinesePod app does not have in-app signup yet. Once you sign up on the web, as you did, go back to your app and click the "Login" button. Then you should be good to go. Thanks for your post to help us know where it is confusing.
